The Cask Journey
A journey that unfolds over time.
The Cask Journey is a two year experience where craftsmanship, spirits, wine and the Italian way of life come together. It follows a 30 litre cask through four stages, from the first fillings to the final chapter of the journey.
Along the way, you can get closer to the craftsmanship, follow the process as it develops and return to Piemonte to share the experience with others. The Cask Journey is also an opportunity to discover the people, places and traditions behind the flavours.
Four stages, two years
The Cask Journey unfolds in four stages: wine, whisky, wine again and finally rum. Each stage has its own character and contributes to the story of the cask.
The wine comes from vineyards in the area around Angelas Haven. The whisky is blended by Angela D’Orazio, master blender, who brings her knowledge and experience to the journey.
It is a journey that takes time, with every stage becoming part of the whole experience.
Be there as the journey unfolds
Throughout The Cask Journey, we organise events that bring you closer to the process. On selected occasions, you can join us as the casks are emptied, filled or bottled, experiencing the craftsmanship first hand.
We also organise events focused on tastings, where we explore the flavours together and discover how the journey develops over time.
You can choose to plan your stay at Angelas Haven around an event featuring a particular stage of the process, or join a tasting that focuses on the drinks and how they develop. Each visit becomes another chapter in the journey.
And in between, there is time for good food, long conversations and shared moments. You decide how deeply you want to explore the craftsmanship and how much you want to enjoy everything else Piemonte has to offer.
Discover Piemonte and its vineyards
Piemonte is part of The Cask Journey. The wine comes from vineyards in the area around Angelas Haven, and during your stay you may have the opportunity to discover the region and visit the vineyards behind the wine.
We are also happy to share our personal favourites and recommend other vineyards, small villages, local markets and restaurants worth discovering.
In this way, The Cask Journey becomes a journey of discovery through a region where food, drink, craftsmanship and tradition are closely connected.
A cask and its contents to take home
When The Cask Journey comes to an end, you can take home both the cask and the drink included in the journey, subject to the membership terms. You will take home a piece of The Cask Journey, along with memories of two years of craftsmanship, flavours and experiences in Piemonte.
